Ryley Johnson was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. He and his father started their show 10+ years ago when they had seen a viral video of a Christmas lights display programmed to Wizards of Winter by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Inspired by the video, they decided Lincoln needed a spectacular show of its own. That is how Lights of Lincoln came to be what it is today. 

 

In 2010, Ryley and his father started with just one lighting controller and 16 controllable outputs. Currently he has expanded the show to 4 controllers with 64 outputs, and 3 pixel controllers with 1000 outputs. Lights of Lincoln was the first in Lincoln to incorporate pixel lights in Lincoln. Pixels have the ability to change the color of a strand of lights using special pixel controllers. Currently, the Lights of Lincoln show has a pixel roof, pixel arches, and a pixel megatree!
